Four departments were opened at Zonguldak BEU Black Sea Ereğli Tourism Faculty

Tourism Management, Recreation Management, Gastronomy and Culinary Arts, Tourism Guidance departments will be opened and will carry out educational activities at Black Sea Ereğli Tourism Faculty opened on April 8, 2016 as a result of the meeting decision of the Executive Board of YÖK dated June 22, 2016. Stating that the new departments opened at the Faculty of Tourism are very important for Zonguldak BEU and Zonguldak, Rector Özer said: “Ereğli is a district which is rich in history and culture. The fact that the region has rapidly developing tourism centres brings with it the need for manpower trained in the sector. The employment rates of the graduates of Tourism Faculties providing undergraduate education in this field are at the forefront according to many sectors. In this respect, we aim to contribute to the human resources of the sector by educating well-equipped and experienced individuals.

The departments opened within the Faculty of Tourism are the departments that will meet different needs in the tourism sector. The new campus area in Black Sea Ereğli has a suitable structure for the academic units to be established. Our Faculty of Tourism is one of the most important faculties in this campus. On this occasion, I hope that the new departments opened to our Faculty of Tourism will be beneficial to Ereğli and Zonguldak.” Higher Education Council (YOK), accepted the Zonguldak Bulent Ecevit Universitys proposal about the establishment of the Faculty of Tourism in Black Sea Eregli. Thus, another important step was taken for the establishment of the Faculty. If the proposal accepted by YÖK and submitted to the Ministry of National Education is approved by the Ministry, the stages of the application process regarding the establishment of the Faculty will be completed.

Bülent Ecevit University Senate meeting held on October 12, 2015, the proposal to the Council of Higher Education was accepted in line with 'the decision of the establishment of the Tourism Faculty in Black Sea Eregli district. The proposal accepted at the meeting of the Council of Higher Education held on 12 November 2015 was submitted to the approval of the Ministry of National Education. Rector Prof. Dr. Mahmut Özer expressed his satisfaction with the approval of YÖK and stated that the decision of the Senate to establish the Faculty of Tourism considering the cultural riches and social structure of the Black Sea Ereğli district and Zonguldak region was a very pleasing development. The fact that every region of our country has a rapidly developing tourism centres brings with it the need for manpower trained in the sector.

The employment rates of the graduates of Tourism Faculties providing undergraduate education in this field are at the forefront according to many sectors. In this respect, we aim to contribute to the human resources of the sector by educating well-equipped and experienced individuals. The new campus area in the Black Sea Ereğli is well suited for the new academic units. We planned to have our Faculty of Tourism in this campus.” Recreation management, tourism guidance, accommodation management, food and beverage management, travel management, tourism management, gastronomy and culinary arts departments have wide areas of employment in the Faculties of Tourism.

Important News For Zonguldak From The Bülent Ecevit University Black Sea Ereğli Tourism Faculty was opened on April 8, 2016. With the opening of new faculties, the number of faculties opened in the university has become thirteen. Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University continues to achieve professional growth. BEU, which has achieved successful works in the field of engineering, has included a Faculty which is very important for Zonguldak and Western Black Sea.Eregli Tourism Faculty was officially opened on 8 April 2016 with the decision number 016/8555 published in the Official Gazette. The newly opened Faculties will start their education life soon with the recruitment of students. With the opening of new faculties, the number of faculties operating within the University has increased to thirteen.
